It's almost as if you are in a black tunnel with no light. Hope disappears and the things you used to find enjoyable become a chore. It is a good idea to tell someone who is depressed to sort themselves out and pull themselves together. Unfortunately, it is not simple but there are ways to alleviate the symptoms of depression. FOCUS ON YOUR GOALS: Suicidal thoughts can strike you down and hard. But once you are clear on your goals, let it motivate you and make you reach on high levels of success. Your dreams and aspirations are what you strive for, don’t let depression fall you back.
GET ENOUGH SLEEP: Sleep regularly so that your mood is uplifted for your well-being. Give some effort and aim for at least 9 hours sleep per night. Let it refresh your thoughts and make you a better person than you were. DISTRACT YOURSELF: Distract yourself from overthinking, if possible. When depression kicks in, your thoughts are your worst enemy. Read a book or simply talk to someone who can make you feel loved. Just stay busy and you will overcome your fears. LISTEN TO UPBEAT MUSIC: As much as you want to listen to sad and gloomy songs, it will only steal your high. Go for the funky high numbers that will set a pace in you heart and make you stay away from feeling low. WRITE: Write as much as you can. Once you let out your feelings onto something, you will feel at peace. Because writing gives you hope and courage to deal with your sufferings. Write at least five things down everyday that you are grateful for. It will make you feel appreciative, and with a strong smile in your heart, lead the rest of your day. FORGIVE OTHERS: Forgive others for breaking your heart. It is not their fault. It is because of your own consequences you are suffering from depression now. Giving time and space to others as well as yourself, will make you snap out of it. DON’T GIVE UP: Don’t lose hope. Don’t give up on yourself. Not just yet. You can overcome this erratic feeling and feel good once again. Because a new day, a new someone, awaits you!
